Moths of the $MEERCAT lamp

A field guide kept in the name of meerkat Half cat

$MEERCAT is a meme coin on Solana, kept as a field guide to the moths that land on a linen sheet under a blacklight. Every visitor to the lamp gets a plate, a number and a caption.

Part I · About

Field notes from the sheet

Every clear night the station hangs a linen sheet, switches on a lamp and writes down whoever arrives. meerkat Half cat is the name on the cover of the notebook.

  1. Note 1

    The lamp does the inviting

Moths steer by the brightest thing in the sky. Hang a blacklight over clean linen and the brightest thing in the sky becomes you.

  2. Note 2

    The sheet does the listing

Nothing is caught and nothing is kept. Each visitor rests on the linen, gets a line in the guide and leaves before dawn.

  3. Note 3

    The coin does the joking

$MEERCAT is the meme coin of the guide: a joke about people who stay up late staring at a glowing rectangle. It stands for no moth and no station.

Mercury vapour: a warm white glare. Three visitors, mostly the sensible brown kind.

Part II · Identification

The key, couplet by couplet

A field key asks one plain question at a time. Answer what you see on the sheet and it narrows the visitor down to a single plate.

Part III · Your specimen

The pinning board

Describe a moth of your own and pin its label to the board. The station keeps your card in this browser and nowhere else; no moth is harmed, because no moth is involved.

Part IV · How to buy

Survey protocol for $MEERCAT

Three steps, in order, the way a night survey is set up: power, light, sheet. The fourth step is for the moths and changes nothing on chain.

  1. Step 1 · Power

    Get a wallet

Install Phantom, Solflare or Backpack. Write the seed phrase on paper and keep it somewhere dry and dark. Never photograph it.

  2. Step 2 · Light

    Fund it with SOL

Buy SOL from a counter you trust and send it to the new wallet. Leave a little for network fees.

  3. Step 3 · Sheet

    Swap on pump.fun

Open the token on pump.fun, paste the contract address from the specimen label in Part V, set a sensible slippage and swap SOL for $MEERCAT.

  4. Step 4 · Optional

    Switch off the porch light

Give the neighbourhood moths one less distraction tonight. They have a survey to attend.

Part V · Contract

The specimen label

The contract address is announced at launch. Copy it only from this page and compare the first and last characters before you swap.

Part VI · FAQ

Queries from the field

Is $MEERCAT a security?

No. $MEERCAT is a meme coin about a field guide to moths at a lamp. It gives you no rights, no dividends and no claim on anything, including the sheet, the lamp, the notebook or any moth that has ever landed there.

Who is behind it?

A community of people who stay up too late and like looking at small things in strong light. There is no named founder, no partner station and no real survey team. Whoever holds $MEERCAT is simply another observer standing by the sheet.

Why moths, and why a blacklight?

Because moths turn up for a lamp without being asked, and a blacklight makes plain linen glow like a page. The guide records who visits and lets them go. Nothing is caught, nothing is pinned for real, and the lamp goes off at dawn.

What if the price goes to zero?

Then it goes to zero, and you should be ready for that before you buy. Meme coins often lose most or all of their value. The moths will keep visiting the lamp either way; the money you put in may not come back.

Is this financial advice?

No. Nothing in this field guide is financial advice, and nobody at the station is qualified to give it. Do your own research, never invest more than you can afford to lose, and treat $MEERCAT as entertainment, like a long night by the lamp.
